Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market

I went to Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market recently for the second time. The first time, I enjoyed the restaurant but wasn’t blown away. This time, I enjoyed it more and probably ate more, too.

For my drink, I was drawn to the Tropical Saké. I enjoyed this sweet and visually appealing cocktail (I mean, I did get it because I saw a picture of it on Yelp).

nigori sake, passion fruit lambic, pineapple juice, hint of strawberry

To eat, we shared several dishes – maybe too many because I was absolutely stuffed!

The first of the dishes was the Krispy Krunch roll. I liked it – the crunch was nice – but did not think it was anything out of this world.

Krispy Krunch
salmon, krab delight, avocado, cream cheese, fried in panko, eel sauce

Next was a classic and go-to – Pork Gyoza. I thought they were good, as expected.

After that, our next sushi roll came – the Black Dragon. I found this one to be better than the first one (Krispy Krunch). It had more flavor and was more filling.

OK, then came the Japanese Yuca Fries. These were delicious and unique. I loved the sauce and the bonita flakes on top!

The Bomb sushi roll was you guessed it, the bomb. The krab delight topping hit the spot!

The last sushi roll I had, the Satori, was my favorite. The spicy garlic sauce was perfect, and I loved the crunch the peppers added.

I was not in the mood for rice, but the Blue Crab Fried Rice was amazing. The rice actually had a lot of crab in it.

I was in the mood for bao, so I ordered the Pork Bao Bun. It was good and fulfilled my craving. Although, I wish there was more pork in them.

pickled cucumber & onion, gochujang, wakame

Now, for dessert…I know you must be wondering how I even had room. I am not even a fan of cheesecake, but this fried cheesecake was phenomenal. The strawberry sauce and the crunchy outside were great touches.

I really enjoyed my experience at Dragonfly. I went to sleep with a nice, happy, and full belly!

Until next time,
