I had a weekend long celebration for the premiere of the final season of Game of Thrones and it was pretty spectacular. I wanted to share with you what I did so maybe you can incorporate it for your next Game of Thrones viewing party (there are still 5 more episodes!).

Okay, so without further ado, here is what you will need for an eye-catching and mouth-watering Game of Thrones watch party:
Dragon Eggs

We bought these “dragon eggs” at Publix (99 cents each). I want to do a Game of Thrones dragon egg hunt with these and put prizes inside of them (maybe next weekend). This past weekend they served well as decorations.
Game of Thrones Oreos

I live in Miami and these Oreos were a pain to find. Eventually, we were able to order them on the Target website and pick them up. I do not even eat Oreos but I sure as hell ate some Game of Thrones Oreos.
Game of Thrones Wine & Ale From Total Wine

I went into Total Wine last week on a mission to get my Game of Thrones drinks. I am pretty sure I got the last or one of the last Game of Thrones Pinot Noirs in stock. The GoT Pinot Noir is made in Oregon and it is pretty delicious (we drank all of it this weekend). We chose the Mother of Dragons Ale because it seemed darker and more interesting than the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. I have never had ale like this; I really enjoyed it and I would purchase it again.
Dragon Fruit

I utilized the dragon fruit I bought in a variety of ways. To begin with, on Friday I used them as part of the table decoration and on Sunday I cut them up.

I ate one of the dragon fruits and scooped out the other one with a 1/4-teaspoon to create egg like shapes. I froze the “dragon eggs” for future use. They are really great in champagne or prosecco. I like to call the drink “The Mother of Dragons” (I know, very original).

Game of Thrones Apparel
This one is a given. We got our Game of Thrones shirts a couple of years ago at Hot Topic (we got the very last shirts – no joke, my shirt was the display shirt).

Or maybe you can go full out as one of your favorite characters? I pulled this Daenerys Targaryen look together with things I already had (what does that say about me? LOL).

Game of Thrones Painting Session

We did this as a family and it was a lot of fun! Painting is a great opportunity to crack open some wine – maybe a Game of Thrones Pinot Noir 😉 – and spend quality, relaxing time with the family. My sister, the artist in the family, made it easy for us by tracing the design we wanted on our canvases. It definitely saved us money, as we did not have to do Painting with a Twist. Go out and buy some canvases and paint and have a blast! This is a memory we will carry with us forever.

Game of Thrones Monopoly

My sister got the Game of Thrones Monopoly for Christmas and we finally put it to use! We played it as we re-watched old episodes Game of Thrones. I think the game helped us get more in the Game of Thrones spirit as we prepared for the premiere of the final season. I will say, I think it is harder and more brutal than regular monopoly. OH and the game brings an iron throne that plays the Game of Thrones theme song!
FOOD!
- Guinness Bread
We did this as a family and it was a lot of fun! Painting is a great opportunity to crack open some wine – maybe a Game of Thrones Pinot Noir 😉 – and spend quality, relaxing time with the family.

- Blackberry Jam
I made my own blackberry jam and utilized it during dinner on Friday and Sunday.

- Sliced Bread & Cheese, and Cherry Tomatoes

- Fresh Fruit (Strawberries, Blackberries, and Grapes)

- Meat Pies
My Mom makes her own ground beef with tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, hard-boiled eggs, etc. She used Argentinian empanada dough shells and molded them to make the shape shown below and then cooked them in the oven.

- Oven Baked Veggies
These veggies will add great color to your meal and they are healthy! I used this recipe for the eggplant fries. The rest of the veggies just have some olive oil and salt on them.

- Quail Eggs
To me, these are fancy chicken eggs. For some reason these tiny things taste better than chicken eggs (maybe it’s because they are so cute?). This is the recipe we used for our meal. Quail eggs are a great starter or side dish.

- Steak Skewers & Pearl Onions
This is the recipe we used. Honestly, the combination of the meat at the onions was my favorite part of our meal on Friday. The marinade was excellent and the fact that it was cooked on the barbecue made it so much better.

- Dragon Egg Truffles
I used this recipe and loved it. Next time I do not think I will put rum, though. I’m not a big fan of rum and it was too overpowering. I love how healthy this recipe is.

- Cornish Hens
The Cornish Hens had great flavor and were a great main dish on the night of the premiere. The garlic was an amazing touch. This is the recipe my Mom used. I’m actually getting ready to eat my leftovers from last night for lunch!

- Potatoes & Butternut Squash
This is very simple. All we did was wash the mini potatoes, cut the butternut squash, add olive oil and salt to both of them, and then bake them in the oven (to get them nice & crispy broil them).

- Sansa’s Lemon Cakes
I used a different recipe this time and loved it. Visually, these called my attention and I’m glad they did. They came out great; I’m impressed.

Here is a look at my heavenly, queen and king worthy plates of food from this weekend:

I would also like to give an honorable mention to our serving platters. They truly completed the look and made us feel like we were a part of Game of Thrones.

I am so grateful that I have a family who shares my love for Game of Thrones. I could not have done all of this without them. My Mother helped me make a lot of this; she is angel sent from above!
I hope you all had a wonderful Game of thrones weekend – here’s to another 5 more!
XO,
Caylin
