La Fresa Francesa – Intimate Bistro with Gourmet French Classics in Hialeah

Authentic French cuisine in Hialeah? I know, I was surprised by it too. La Fresa Francesa is a gem that deserves praise for its bohemian vibe and gourmet French eats. I promise that you will feel like you teleported to a restaurant in France.

My parents went about a month ago on their date night and came home raving about the food and ambiance. This time around, they so kindly chose to take us to experience what it is all about. My Mom called prior to make a reservation (earliest they had was 9PM – beware, it is popular!). We arrived a bit earlier and had to wait until it got closer to our reservation time to be seated.

Yes, we are a selfie family;)

Like I have said before, I am indeed lactose intolerant but today, that was not a concern of mine. When at a French restaurant, eat cheese!!!

For appetizer, I could not resist trying the bacon wrapped dates. They were phenomenal – freshly made and simply perfect. A must-try is also the brie with honey and French bread. It is made to order so know that you will have to wait a bit (not too long) for this one. The consistency of the first brie that we were brought was a bit off but the second one was better. I learned that honey on brie is magic.

For dinner, I had the Hanger Steak (it was highly recommended by my Mom). I thought it was excellent. I practically licked my plate…

My parents had the short rib and mashed butternut and loved it. It was a rather large portion that they still both managed to devour.

For dessert, we had the Salted Butter Crepe and that was sinful. The mix of the salty butter and the sugar is unmatched. I think I will be dreaming about how that tasted for a while.

Cannot wait until I can go back to La Fresa Francesa!
