Chef Eileen Andrade (from Finka) brought her iconic Latin-Asian Fusion to The Doral Yard with her latest restaurant, Barbakoa.
This was my first time at the Doral Yard. It was absolutely adorable and incredibly lively! Fair warning, parking can be tricky on a Friday night.

I love the cocktails at Finka, so it is only natural that I would love them at Barbakoa, as well. Not only are the cocktails well-crafted but they are also well named. I had the Justin Fever, and it was splendid. I loved the touch of coconut cream!
For appetizer, we had the two most popular options – Brisket Burnt Ends & Korean BBQ Grilled Octopus. Both of the starters were scrumptious and really set the stage for what was to come.
Now for the main dishes! My parents had the Oxtail Fried Rice and the Korean BBQ Braised Shortrib Triffin and I had the Cauliflower Fried Rice. My parents’ plates were perfection, but mine (the Cauliflower Fried Rice) was lacking in flavor.
We were too full for dessert and nothing really jumped out at us to overcome the fullness.
I had a great time trying this new restaurant and crashing my parents’ date night!
XO,
Caylin
