We Made Our Own Prom

Today, May 16th, was supposed to be my Sister’s prom. To boost her mood, I thought it would be a good idea to make our own prom (as in make our own prom I mean get all dressed up as if we were going to prom).

I decided to somewhat recreate my prom look from 2014 (gosh, I am getting old. That was 6 years ago.). I wanted to wear the 50s dress that I found at Miami Twice and instantly connected with. Seriously, it was the first dress I tried on at the first store I went to…it was made for me. I don’t know when else I will get to wear this magical dress, so I gave it another go. Thankfully, it still fit.

This time around, I wanted to try something different with my hair (since I do not know how to recreate the hair-do I had for prom) and wear comfier shoes. No, I am not 18 years old anymore. I no longer have that high school glow, but I think I still got it – in a confident woman type of way, of course.

My sister opted to not wear her actual prom dress (that she also got at Miami Twice), as to not give it away just yet. She was still a stunner in red, though.

I am glad I was able to do this with my Sister. No, it does not fix the fact that she does not have an actual prom – but, it does make things a little bit better. It felt nice to dress up and feel extra pretty.
