It was a Sunday well spent at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea – the weather was splendid, the food was savory, and the company was more than satisfying. The experience served as the ideal unwinding to the thrill and merriness that was St. Patrick’s Day. I have been to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea several times and it is always a good time.
Here are some musts from my Sunday daycation:
- El Mar Cafe for Breakfast or Lunch
Pretty much every time I visit Lauderdale-by-the-Sea I go here. It is good, dependable, and quick. Every dish I’ve had has been delicious and I’ve tried a lot of different things…..(i.e. Lox and Bagel, Eggs Benedict, Omelettes, Sandwiches). This time, I opted to get the special of the day – Grouper Sandwich with sweet potato fries (I practically licked the plate).
- A Visit to Diamonds & Doggies – Diamonds AND Doggies are a Girl’s Best Friends!
This specialty dog store has several Tea Cup and Toy Puppies on display and for sale, along with fashion and fine jewelry for people and their furry friends. Several celebrities have shopped here, including Kourtney & Khloe Kardashian, Eva Longoria, and Adam Sandler. Petting a puppy will definitely put anyone in a good mood!

- Kilwin’s – A Cool, Sweet Treat to Soothe in the Scorching Heat
In the mood for ice cream, fudge, chocolate covered strawberries, or a caramel apple? Well, Kilwin’s is the place for you! I had a Lemon Sorbetto and it hit the spot.

- Anglin’s Fishing Pier – A Must for Sightseeing & Pictures
You don’t have to be a fisherman to enjoy the pier– enjoy the view and snap some great shots!
